PROJECT OVERVIEW
VMAL was approached to brand 48 Banks Road, a collection of exclusive holiday rental apartments located on the “millionaires’ row” of Sandbanks, Dorset. Situated on one of the world’s most expensive and exclusive peninsulas, the development required a visual identity that could stand alongside the luxury yachts and high-end estates that define the area.

VISION
The vision was to create a brand that felt both “Stylish and versatile,” mirroring the premium nature of a Sandbanks stay. We aimed to capture the essence of a luxury, pampered experience, ensuring that every touchpoint—from the building’s exterior to the custom visitor books—exuded the quiet confidence of elite coastal living.
STRATEGY
Our strategy was centred on “Minimalist Luxury”, utilising high-concept design to signal exclusivity:
› The Bauhaus Aesthetic: We developed a modern, Bauhaus-style logo that serves a dual purpose. It represents a classic yacht shape to reflect the local maritime culture, while cleverly forming the numbers ‘4’ and ‘8’ within the negative space.
› The Boutique Experience: To involve the guest in the brand story, we extended the identity beyond traditional signage. By applying the unique graphic to custom accessories like towelling robes, slippers, and towels, we reinforced the “high-spec” feel of a luxury retreat.
SOLUTION
VMAL delivered a sophisticated brand identity that seamlessly blends modern geometry with maritime elegance. The versatility of the design allowed for a cohesive application across all physical and digital assets, successfully positioning 48 Banks Road as a premier destination. As noted by the client, the final brand identity “suits the project very well” and enhances the overall guest experience through thoughtful, stylish details.
